I dont think she has much choices, if she want to get private military services, those company like "Black rock"(America pmc) would fit into the bill as they are from the same part of the world. As far as i know, they do take trades gun license and body guards for those who go into the war zone.

And its actually real isekai where you deal with both worlds constantly,somewhat similar to Gate Jieitai which i respect.

it is kinda beautiful how episode 1 sets up a classic isekai and now episode 2 was more like a "slice of life about learning to do x thing" (this case, how to use a gun)

although mitsuha's commentary about "the isekai being still in medieval times means they probably explain stuff as magic" makes me wonder "magic is real in that world?"
i don't know. one would have to consider the possibility that magic IS real in that other world and one has to take precaution

what do you mean "real isekai?" Isekai is just the japanese name for portal fantasy. (This is a genuine question, not a riff).

Isekai is Japanese for another world. It doesn't have to be a fantasy world and you don't have to have OP powers, even though universal translator and teleport is pretty OP. I think he is commenting how it's more realistic that someone isekai without OP powers and have to learn to adapt to the language and the culture of the new world..

It means another world but the genre has always been there regardless of being Japanese or not. Mean Narnia and The Matrix are technically this also. Harry Potter I'd say is urban fantasy as it coexist in the real world. On the contrary The Lord of the Rings and The Witcher are High Fantasy as they have their own worlds developed worlds with it's own rules and no connection of going to another place to do so. On the contrary a reverse isekai is like Devil is Part Timer. It came to our world from another world. On the contrary I don't think it normally gets a term but seems it is commonly posted as reverse isekai.
